Lean Thinking is a method for organising complex service and manufacturing processes to provide large numbers of goods or services rapidly and at high quality. 

Lean Thinking was originally developed by the Toyota motor company and has now been incorporated into modern manufacturing and services industries of many kinds. It has materially contributed to safety and quality wherever it has been applied.

The lean team

The Australasian Lean Healthcare Network was established in 2007 to promote the application of Lean Thinking principles in healthcare redesign. Network functions are:

  • conducting conferences and workshops
  • acting as a clearing house for relevant resources
  • facilitating discussion between members
  • keeping members abreast of international and local developments.

The Network is a non-profit association and a constituent member of Lean Enterprise Australia.

Membership

Any individual or group can register with the Network to receive updates on forthcoming activities.

Network members will:

  • receive notification of upcoming events
  • be able to participate in discussions through our blog
  • receive periodic newsletters.
